IB World School
International Education
At Liceo Sorolla International School, we believe in an education that prepares students to understand the world, thrive in international environments and live alongside people from different cultures, languages and ways of thinking.
As an international school in Pozuelo de Alarcón, our goal is to educate global citizens with an open mindset, critical thinking skills and a strong commitment to the future. We want our students to learn how to respect differences, find common ground and contribute to building a fairer, more sustainable and inclusive world.
An International School with a Global Vision
At Liceo Sorolla International School, we offer an international education that combines academic excellence, languages, cultural experiences and a methodology connected to the real world.
We have been an IB World School since 2016 and are part of a network of more than 4,000 international schools offering the International Baccalaureate® (IB).
We offer the IB methodology across all educational stages: Primary, Secondary and Sixth Form.
We currently have two groups studying the IBDP Diploma Programme and continue to strengthen our international project year after year.
Since our very first graduating class,
we have achieved:
A 100% pass rate in the IB Diploma Programme
Academic results above the international average
In the 2020/21 academic year,
our students achieved:
An average score of 34.41 out of 45 points
Equivalent to 8.48 out of 10 in the Spanish university entrance system
In addition, our teaching staff continue to receive ongoing training to maintain the quality standards required by the IB programme, making Liceo Sorolla International School a reference centre visited by other schools interested in developing international education models.
Trilingual Education and an International Community
Our international school is committed to trilingual education in Spanish, English and French. However, international education goes far beyond learning languages. Our goal is to educate multicultural, open-minded students who are prepared to thrive in a global environment.
Today, students from more than 25 nationalities learn together at our school, creating a diverse, enriching and inclusive environment where students also grow through daily interaction and shared experiences.
This cultural diversity transforms the school into a truly international environment where students exchange perspectives, experiences and different ways of understanding the world.
International Trips and Cultural Exchanges
One of the key pillars of our international education is offering real experiences beyond the classroom.
For this reason, we promote international trips and cultural exchanges in countries such as the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Ireland and France.
Travelling helps students gain independence, discover new cultures and broaden their perspective of the world.
Every year:
We welcome around 50 students from international schools across different countries.
Approximately 150 students enjoy an international academic experience abroad.
These experiences allow students to develop confidence, independence and a global mindset from an early age.
An International Teaching Team
The Languages Department is one of the largest departments in the school and is made up of 28 teachers, 19 of whom are native speakers from different countries.
In addition, we have bilingual Spanish teachers with international academic and teaching experience, bringing a multicultural and global perspective to everyday learning.
Our team regularly participates in educational research visits and international exchange programmes to explore new methodologies and share best practices with some of the leading international schools in the world.
International Education Prepared for the Future
At Liceo Sorolla International School, we understand international education as a way of preparing students to live, study and work in an increasingly connected world.
Beyond academic achievement, we aim to develop students who are able to:
Adapt to different environments.
Communicate confidently in multiple languages.
Understand other cultures.
Think critically and globally.
Because the future will be international, and education should be too.
